International Awareness and Involvement

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recognizes that the entire world is our service area. International Awareness and Involvement is a part of our Five Point Programmatic Thrust.  Therefore, we seek to touch the lives of individuals in need all over the world. Our organization has 12 international chapters. These chapters serve communities in Canada, England, Japan (Tokyo & Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Liberia, Bahamas, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, West Africa, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

International Awareness and Involvement programming and fundraising efforts have supported the sorority’s international efforts of

  • Adelaide Tambo School for the Physically Challenged
  • Delta House/Vashti Village
  • I Can Fly School
  • Mary Help the Sick Mission Hospital

Local Programs

The Omaha Alumnae Chapter has partnered with organizations that support African immigrants and participated in the following initiatives:
  • Organized Project Africa – a project collecting toiletries and other items to be donated to families in need in the community.
  • Participated in the World AIDS Day – a day to educate and unite in an effort to help end HIV and remember those lost to AIDS related illnesses​.
  • Coordinated the International Sisterhood Symposium-a two day program designed to provide awareness of the African diaspora and resources available to the African community.
