Our Story

In 1947, seven members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated felt the need to establish a chapter in Omaha, Nebraska. An organizational meeting was held to discuss the procedures needed to charter a chapter. The Central Regional Director was contacted and plans were made to establish a chapter….

President's Welcome

On behalf of the Omaha Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I extend a warm welcome and formal greetings. We are proud to be a part of a rich legacy of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action, and we invite you to learn more about our chapter and our commitment to public service. Since 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been blazing a path in our communities at large by providing assistance and support through established programs, with a primary focus on the Black community.

Chartered in 1947, the Outstanding Omaha Alumnae Chapter is dedicated to empowering the Omaha community through programs within our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

  • Economic Development
  • Educational Development
  • International Awareness & Involvement
  • Physical & Mental Health
  • Political Awareness & Involvement

With the example of our 22 Founders, we believe in the power of collective action and are committed to making a positive impact. Through our scholarships and signature programs, we are dedicated to empowering the Omaha service area toward forward movement, advancement opportunities, and positive growth.
